I am absolutely convinced that discovering new portfolios on a regular basis helps educate your eye and have a better understanding of the possibilities that photography offer. Poland What you see, is who you are – says Szymon Brodziak, the master of black and white photography. The youngest aritist exhibited at the Museum of Photography – Helmut Newton Foundation in Berlin. The best black & white campaign photographer of the world, acclaimed by the jury of Fashion TV Photographers Awards, Cannes Film Festival, Brodziak confrmed his mastery by winning 1st Place in World’s Top 10 Black & White Photographers contest curated by One Eye land. He loves to photograph women. He’s inspired mainly by locations, where he brings to life his monochromatic visions. Brodziak received Johnnie Walker Keep Walking Award for constant fulflment of dreams and passion for setting new paths in the search. In Europe, Brodziak received numerous medals and honourable mentions in various editions of the renowed Prix de la Photographie Paris, both for commercial and personal projects, including the title of Advertising Photographer of the Year. In the USA, he won first place in Fashion category in two photo competitions: International Photography Awards and Black and White Spider Awards, which rewards the best monochromatic images from all over the word. His first photo album had it’s oficial premiere in Rome. It presents the first 10 years of his professional activity. The publication starts with a personal dedication from June Newton, wife to the legendary photographer Helmut Newton. Szymon’s new photographic book entitled WHAT YOU SEE IS WHO YOU ARE won a Gold Medal (Book: Cover) and 2 Bronze Medals (Book: Fine Art & Other) at Prix de la Photographie Paris and also Honorable Mention at International Photography Awards (USA). The artist’s work can be seen and ordered in his own galleries of photography located in Poland and are also available worldwide.
United States Darin Back is mostly known by his stark black and white portraits he’s been shooting. He started his career in the early after a small photography trade school, early to work as an assistant. He spent two years assisting in Minneapolis, a modeling season in Miami assisting photographers for German Vogue, Italian Vogue. Eventually he went west to Los Angeles to assist with Greg Gorman, Dewey Nicks for a few years. After working on his first advertising commercial he met Lori Goldstein, the stylist for photographer Annie Leibovitz. After a few assignments with Annie, he headed back to Minnesota. During that time he was represented by Redux Pictures. Darin headed east and north to Maine, lived in a train caboose for a year, trying to find some much needed rest. He finally made his way back home to Florida where he continues to shoot portraits.
Karoline Schneider is an artist and photographer living in the of Berlin. She currently teaches at Film University Babelsberg. After graduating from the University of Arts, Berlin and Film University, Potsdam/ Babelsberg, Karoline began her working life as a graphic artist and animation filmmaker with a love of photography. she has been working with the wet plate method as a way to challenge the limitations of the photographic form and reintroduces the random and the to her artwork. Her most recent works combine images with text and installation to create pieces of complex narrative.
